The Walled Garden
A Place Where We Grow Your Food
Sustainable, seasonal food at Rhosygilwen
All the food grown in Rhosygilwen’s Walled Garden is sustainable and organic.
This includes growing sprouts (we love them!) in the garden in winter and tomatoes in spring/summer.
Jon, our amazing gardener, tends to the fruit and vegetables and is always open to giving people a tour and talking through what is growing that day.
This is a snapshot of some of the produce we grow and serve at Rhosygilwen:
- Brussel Sprouts
- Apples
- Plums
- Gooseberries
- Pears
- Cherries
- Apricots
- Strawberries
- Raspberries
- Blueberries
- Kiwis
- Carrots
- Potatoes
- Aubergines
- Courrgettes
Disability Friendly Access
The Walled Garden is disability friendly with wheelchair access and wheelchair friendly paths.
We believe nature should be available to everyone, and encourage everyone to experience the Walled Garden.
Retaining Victorian Heritage
Throughout the Walled Garden, we have taken great care to maintain, respect and homage our Victorian heritage.
This includes reinstating and using the originally outlined Victorian cutting beds and growing vegetables we believe were grown 200 years ago. We are also incredibly proud that the fig tree, planted in the Victorian era, is still producing fruit. Come and take a look at it!
The Walled Garden is a vital part of Rhosygilwen's sustainability efforts.
