Sustainability, the Rhosygilwen Way
The ultimate environmentally friendly wedding venue, retreat and event space in Pembrokeshire.
Sustainable to Protect Pembrokeshire
Since the 1990s, Rhosygilwen has led sustainability efforts in Pembrokeshire and the wider South Wales area. The mansion, Oak Hall and the courtyard cottages are solar powered and heated by underground heat pumps. So whether you are having a wedding, a retreat or a celebration, you can go about your day without an embarrassing carbon footprint.
Rhosygilwen saves 400,000 CO2 tonnes per year.
Rhosygilwen generates 2GwH of clean, solar energy per year. That’s the equivalent of:
4,000,000 Car Journeys
350,000 Transatlantic Flights
You can travel to and from the venue knowing we’re carbon offsetting for you

Seasonal Food Grown and Sourced In Pembrokeshire
If you host your Pembrokeshire wedding at Rhosygilwen or your event, the food we serve you will be grown in our own Walled Garden or locally sourced. Our gardening team produces our own organic vegetables and salads all year round. So in the summer you can expect some lovely courgettes and some nutritious squashes in the winter.
Rhosygilwen’s Pembrokeshire Solar Farm
Nestled within our 50 acres is our very own solar farm and the first solar farm in Wales. The farm generates free electricity for the venue and everything else we sell to the National Grid, helping power the local area. The farm generates 2GwH per year. That’s TWO BILLION hours of electricity a year.
Perfect for Pembrokeshire’s Electric Vehicles
We have several electric vehicles charging points on the grounds so you or your guests can charge up while celebrating.
Sustainable Hot Water With Heat Pumps
We heat our hot water with underground heat pumps. You and your guests get hot water without any emissions.
