Rhododendrons, Magnolias and Pieris blooming in Pembrokeshire

The cold weather during February and March has held a lot of things back in the garden at Rhosygilwen this year. This means that the flowering of a number of species is being compressed together.

We still have plenty of daffodils and primroses showing well.

Some of the rhododendrons are spectacular already, and the pieris and magnolia are just on the point of bursting into bloom.

As long as the cool spell over the weekend doesn’t cause any serious damage we should have a terrific display over the next couple of weeks.

Meanwhile things in the walled kitchen garden are still pretty quiet although there is plenty happening in the glasshouse.
