A Special Place – a retreat
A few more things that make Rhosygilwen, a Pembrokeshire retreat, so unique
Thank you to everyone at Rhosygilwen for making us so welcome and feeding us beautifully! We hope to come again.
Thanks … for all your help with organizing our ‘Making a Song and Dance of It’ event. The evening was a great success.
Sustainable Living
The philosophy behind Rhosygilwen includes an absolute commitment to sustainable living.
Western Solar
Western Solar Ltd owns and operates the first large–scale solar park in West Wales. Using photovoltaic panels from MiaSolé, the pioneeringmanufacturer of thin film PV panels, the park generates 1,200kW of electricity. This is enough to power more than 350 homes.
Western Solar is committed to spreading the technical know how gained at Rhosygilwen to those interested in installing PV systems of their own. Over the park’s operational life, Western Solar will encourage sharing experiences on performance optimisation and the suitability of large scale PV to weather conditions here in West Wales.
Western Solar is also committed to sponsoring the arts through Menter Rhosygilwen. This charity has been set up to run the unique venue at Rhosygilwen and promote culture as an engine of rural regeneration. Combined with the support from Western Solar, it is hoped that social, environmental and economic sustainability can be achieved for the arts at Rhosygilwen.
Menter Rhosygilwen
Menter Rhosygilwen promotes music, the arts and culture with the aim of enjoyment and economic regeneration in this rural corner of West Wales. It relies on its established base of loyal audiences and hopes that the programming will attract people from a wider world to come and enjoy the area. We are passionate about live music by Welsh and international artists in the areas of classical, choral, folk, jazz and traditional music of Wales. Visit the Menter Rhosygilwen site for more information about the charity and its upcoming events.
